Several CVS stores have opened up in our area of Arkansas, so I’ll be slowly beginning to coupon shop again and slowly beginning to post again.  Today was my first trip to CVS in well over a year and I have to say that I didn’t have my head screwed on at all! Fortunately though, couponing at CVS rarely can go dreadfully wrong.

Here’s what I picked up today:

Totals: $39.58 at sale prices ($65.15 retail at CVS) for $23.04 OOP, with $8 in ECBs to use next week for a net purchase today of $15.04. That’s a huge CVS purchase for us, but I’m pleased with 75% savings!  

Had I reversed the transactions as originally planned, my OOP would have been $7 less and I’d only be holding $3 in ECBs, but I’m certainly not worried about spending $8 in ECBs in the next month now that I have a CVS store nearby again.

Our last Beginner’s Scenario ended with a $2 ECB and $3 ECB and $2.70 in our Savingstar account. If you don’t have any ECBs or Savingstar funds you’ll just spend a little more (out of pocket) but will be right there with us for next week!

This scenario is written for beginners so it’s designed to be fairly simple, with no scanner Qs included unless advertised in the weekly ad. It also does not tally any items that may qualify for the beauty club, but you’ll want to sign up for it anyway because it’s free You’ll want to read over my CVS tutorial before you go shopping so you’ll have a better understanding of how this all works.

This is a big shopping week for CVS. Stores often have to keep inventory of popular items behind the counter, so be sure to ask if you can’t fin something.
