What SEO Content Does Google Like? https://falconhive.com/what-seo-content-does-google-like/ Thu, 11 Feb 2021 23:38:56 +0000 https://falconhive.com/?p=6814 SEO, or search engine optimization, is a set of strategies to help websites become more visible on the web. Whether your website is in need of  local SEO, enterprise SEO, or medical SEO, there is one common factor that works to determine the success of any website: content.

For anyone familiar with the SEO world and digital marketing, you’ve probably heard the adage that “content is king.” Over the years, as Google has changed their algorithm thousands of times, this adage is one of the few factors that remains true. If you have any interest in landing on page one of Google or other search engines, you’ll need high-quality and consistent content.

But how do we define “high-quality?” What exactly is Google looking for? While, like the algorithms, these qualities do change over time, there are certain aspects that remain consistent. Therefore, we could say that Google “likes” a certain type of content. Here, we take a closer look at how to write content that Google will love.

KEYWORDS

When users are searching for something online, they’ll use specific keywords to answer their questions or find the right product or service. Knowing which keywords your potential customers are using is critical for SEO success because you want to mirror this same type of language in your content. Perform keyword research to see which words are ranking and trending and work to incorporate them (naturally, of course) into your writing.

LENGTH

While the digital age may be notorious for shortening our attention spans, Google still prefers longer content to short blurbs. Why is this? In general, longer content has a better chance of providing a comprehensive answer and satisfying a user’s search query. It may even lead them on to other questions and help them expand their knowledge on a certain subject.

The ideal content length depends on the genre you’re working with. For your standard article, you want to hit at least 1,000 words in length. For longer forms, like a blog post, you’ll want to land around 1,5000 words. The more comprehensive your content is, the less need your user will have to go looking elsewhere.

Of course, this doesn’t mean you should fill your content with “fluff” and unnecessary words. This will only serve to slow down the reader and leave your information more convoluted. Try expanding on a topic, adding more novel information, or approaching it from a unique angle to increase the length of your web content.

CONTENT ORGANIZATION

Google loves content that is effectively organized for the reader. Not only does this make it easier to process the content, but it allows a user to effectively navigate the content to find what they need—this is especially useful for longer genres of content like blogs. But what does an effective organization look like?

Use headers that incorporate key, ranking keywords to divide your content into subtopics or questions. Under each header, try breaking your content up into smaller paragraphs, focusing each on one key point. This makes your content much easier to read and process. Bulleted and numerical lists are another excellent way to break down your content and improve your overall organization.

READABILITY

Effective content organization plays an important role in making your work more readable, but there’s more to the equation. Readability refers to how accessible your content is to the average reader. While you don’t want to “dumb down” your content by any means, you should be strategic and accessible in the language and organization you’re using. After all, the purpose of your content is to help users and answer their questions.

The readability level of content is not a major factor in search engine rankings, but it will make a big impact on other important factors—many of which Google does care about. If your content is easier to understand, a user will spend more time on your site. This means a longer on-page time and lower bounce rates and exit rates, which are all factors search engines do take into account with their algorithms.

ELIMINATE DUPLICATE CONTENT

Let’s say you’ve got an amazing webpage or article—wouldn’t your first instinct be to copy and paste this content all over your site to make it as noticeable as possible? Google doesn’t think so. In fact, duplicate content is one of the most important things to avoid when writing quality SEO content.

Google and other search engines value quantity in addition to quality, which means that they want consistently fresh and original content. Duplicate content on a website looks lazy and unoriginal. Google wants diverse content that can answer users’ questions and provide the most relevant information or services.

WRITE WITH AUTHORITY

Google loves to EAT high-quality content. This acronym stands for Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness (EAT). Quality content, in general, comes from quality sources, which is why search engines value writers and voices that know what they’re talking about. This is why, for example, you often see doctors or other healthcare professionals referenced in medical articles. As experts in their field, these are the voices (and information) you can trust.

Of course, you don’t need to be a professional in a certain field to be able to write high-quality SEO content. You can also reference professionals and experts by quoting them or by providing external link to their content. When including external links, you want to make sure you’re taking users to trustworthy content. Linking out to poor quality sites can drag down your quality. Look for professional websites and organizations when linking out. Sites with an .edu, .gov, or .org are strong candidates for external linking.

CONCLUSION – WHAT SEO CONTENT DOES GOOGLE LIKE?

For many companies looking to climb the search engine ladder, hiring an experienced digital marketing firm can be a very effective option. These professionals can optimize your website, and even develop high-quality content, to help your company reach the first page of Google. They know exactly how to tailor content to fit exactly what Google likes. Additionally, since Google is always changing its preferences through algorithm updates, these teams can keep up with the changes to ensure the long-term success of your website and content.

Top 7 Tips For Seo Outsourcing For Your Company Growth https://falconhive.com/top-7-tips-for-seo-outsourcing-for-your-company-growth/ Mon, 12 Aug 2019 16:39:28 +0000 https://falconhive.com/?p=6537 In this age and era, every business, irrespective of size, needs to have some sort of an online presence. This is because the world is gravitating towards interconnectivity and the lack of it could mean being left behind by competitors. With that said, a business has many moving parts. Be it customer service, delivery of orders, or even receiving the same. In the midst of all this, it almost becomes impossible to fully focus on effective online marketing.

Even worse, entrepreneurs face challenges in choosing the best marketing option that suits their business model and budget. Even though there is a myriad number of online marketing options, SEO is one of the simplest ways that a business can use to tap into the vast online market. When effectively applied, it can fetch your business a very high ROI.

And with the emergence of outstaffing services, you shouldn’t have a problem in implementing an SEO strategy even if you aren’t experienced.

What is SEO?

Search engine optimization (SEO) entails optimizing website content using different parameters such as images, keywords, and text so they can rank better in search engine rankings in Google, Yahoo, & Bing. once properly adapted and implemented, SEO can help augment the volume and quality of organic traffic generated from various search engines.

Since the search engines will always give the users the results for what they are actively searching for, occupying the top spot on that stack means that you’re providing them with the information when they want it.

To underwrite this, a recent report by seotribunal indicates that SEO helps generate approximately 93% of all website traffic. In terms of spending, the entire SEO market spent $72.02 B in 2018 with the amount expected to reach $79.27B in 2020. Of this amount, the largest contribution will come from small and medium companies with large companies contributing only a third of the total spending.

So how can outsourcing help you grow your company?

7 Helpful SEO Outsourcing Practices for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises

SEO outstaffing services are the first step in improving your overall business. And although it may seem cost-effective to do the work yourself, it is counterproductive in the long-run. This is because implementing a coherent SEO strategy that will push your website to a position where it can compete with already established webmasters is time-consuming. And your time being money, staff augmentation saves you time, allows you to focus on your core business, and even flirt with new ventures.

If by chance you feel like the SEO implementation workload will soon overwhelm you,  it is a good idea to seek the help of outstaffing service providers. These professionals have in-the-trenches experience and are capable of injecting more time towards your projects.

Here are 7 tips for SEO outsourcing:

Outsource Before Designing Your Website

It’s always important to hire your SEO team before designing your website. This helps to avoid missing opportunities like pages customization which means your website starts off and continues operating at an SEO advantage.

A good example of customization that is required during the initial stages of coding the ability to control H1 tags and the title tags on individual pages of the site. Although some templates allow for automatic generation of title tags on each page, there are those that don’t allow it hence crippling your overall SEO. This is because different title tags and the right keywords are what your website needs to rank.

Wisely Choose the Outsourcing Company

If you want to catch a raccoon, you have to think like one. For obvious, but equally important, reasons, it’s important to know how the company you are looking to hire performs in their niche. Simply look for a keyword in the niche and type it on the search engine. For example, if your niche is health, you should try searching for BPO healthcare keywords that might help you find the right company for your business. If they rank high as a result of the exact phrase you are looking for, they are probably worth their salt.

On the other hand, if they rank because of paid ads, then you may want to reconsider as a good SEO company should rank based on organic traffic.

Explicitly State your Campaign’s Intentions

After assembling the right team, you’ll want to explicitly state your objectives, in this case, being rankings and generating quality traffic. You should also outline how you want the campaign implemented and break everything down into timeframes.  You can indicate what you want to be implemented in a particular month or even on an ongoing basis.

As soon as the campaign is underway, demand that the provider occasionally sends deliverables to ensure you keep tabs of the work done. And this could range from the number of links generated, blog posts written or shared items on social media.

It would be lackadaisical to outsource your project and assume that the SEO firm is doing everything as agreed. And since this is a new partnership, a monthly call would make sense. Alternatively, if you have a long-established relationship, an email is adequate.

Evaluate the SEO Provider Tools and Methodologies

Not all SEO tools are born equal. There are good the good one and there are bad ones.  And since good SEO tools equal to an excellent SEO strategy, it’s important to probe the provider on the kind of tools they are using for black hat purposes.

Still, on the same, ensure they have a portfolio of published white papers and case studies showing the effectiveness of their SEO methodology. If they lack any form of proof backing up their methodology, seeking an alternative provider should be your next move.

KeepThings Organized

Unfortunately, internal staff changes or budget cuts can lead to a sudden collapse of the client/provider relationship and potentially disrupting business operations. To avoid all of this, ensure that everything is documented on how such unforeseen circumstance can be handled to avoid disappointments.  The last thing you want is to end a relationship with an SEO provider only to end up begging for passwords or other important information.

Ensure Compatibility of your SEO with Supplementary Digital Marketing Initiatives

Unfortunately, many business owners treat SEO as a stand-alone service. The truth of the matter is that you can’t solely rely on SEO and expert to cut it. Ensure that your provider is capable of implementing an SEO strategy that can easily merge with your other digital marketing initiatives social media pages and PPC.

Follow-up on the Results

SEO is all about result nothing more nothing less. And although you shouldn’t expect results within a week or a month, its important to see the slow progress. For this, you need to request your provider to furnish you with a weekly or monthly report to assess how their efforts are fairing.

An SEO or IT outstaffing service provider may lure you into thinking that your ranks will blow off the roofs within days. While such a promise my fire you to take impulsive SEO decisions, it may not propel you in the long haul. This is because SEO is long-term and you need to be practice patience and keep a closer eye on the results.

2019 SEO Trends to Lookout For

Let’s take a look at the trends in SEO that are already making headlines in 2019:

Consistent and High-Quality Content

Consistent and high-quality content remains the gateway to achieving higher Google rankings. A recent report by HubSpot, 55% of marketers have touted relevant content creation as their weapon of choice when it comes to SEO. This is because customers are looking for relevant information that helps solve their problems and answer their questions. If you are doing contrary to this, chances are high that your website will miss out on Google rankings.

Voice Search Domination

With the growth of mobile internet, the old orthodox typing is slowly getting antiquated. With the emergence of AI and machine learning, devices are getting smarter by the day to the extent of learning to understand speech. By 2020, it is estimated that half of all the online searches will emanate from spoken queries and SEO will definitely feel the impact.

Video Optimization

On top of voice search domination, 2019 has also seen videos optimization gain tract in the SEO ecosystem. Although you may have videos with the best production, they won’t rank without minus carefully picked keywords.

Mobile-first Indexing

In 2018, Google rolled out the first-ever mobile-first index. It simply works by ranking websites basing on the mobile UX’s quality. If your web outstaffing company develops a website with the mobile and desktop versions, the two are combined then ranked. if it has the desktop version only, it is indexed normally.

As a website owner, this means that means you need to have a mobile-friendly website version. Otherwise, Google will index what your mobile users can’t see which means foregoing important traffic.

Conclusion

As you can see, SEO entails a lot of moving parts which may pose difficulties to an amateur. The key to achieving success in SEO outsourcing lies in finding the right provider that understands your business needs.

3 TOP SEO Tips to Improve Organic Searches https://falconhive.com/3-top-seo-tips-to-improve-organic-searches/ Sat, 01 Jun 2019 21:45:03 +0000 https://falconhive.com/?p=6475 The popularity and monetary success of a website depends on numerous parameters including the effort put in and the preferences of the targeted audience. The important aspect is that the success of any website has a relationship of direct proportionality with organic searches. If people do not visit your website, it would not generate money. Thus, if you witness that your website is losing organic searches, you should troubleshoot the reason without any minute. Once you know why the number of organic searches is decreasing, it would be easier for you to work on the solution. Here are some of the best tips for enhancing the organic search rate of your website.

  1. A quality blog on the website

Business owners should not miss any way through which new content can be added to the website. Having a quality blog on the website is one of the best ways to do it. When you have a blog on your website, you would be adding new posts every now and then. This means that readers would be able to read fresh content at regular intervals. In terms of organic searches, this is a positive aspect. When people get fresh content to read regularly on a website, they search for the website every now and then. This simply means that the number of organic searches for the website would increase.

  • How can you write quality blog?

Most of the bloggers run out of ideas or the beginner bloggers cannot write every on their own. Well, it’s not something to be embarrassed as to run out of new content every day is a common thing.

Paraphrasing is a technique to rewrite the content but with new taste. There are multiple paraphrasing tools that can help you in writing. However, Prepostseo paraphraser tool gives the best result when it comes to write quality blog. However, you can choose any tool that suits you. It is always advised to use synonym changer or sentence rephraser if you are new to blog writings.

  • Adding related interesting content is the key. New content is added so that people develop interest and turn into regular visitors. On the other hand, if people witness that the content being uploaded is not related to what you offer, they would obviously get confused. The new blogs which you add should help in marketing your image. For example, consider that you have a brand that sells furniture. The blogs should be able to present interesting information so that users can get excited and develop the urge to know more about the brand. It is not necessary that only promotional content should be uploaded in the form of blogs.

  1. Work on the user experience in the best manner

A high percentage of websites fail to get organic searches because they do not have an up to standard user experience. For quality user experience, a number of factors come into play. If you have a sharp colour scheme and the user is getting irritated, it is a sign of poor user experience. It is one of the key reasons why users stop visiting a website. If the rank of your website is falling, it may be because the users may be expecting more ease of usability.

  • As it is mentioned above, a number of parameters impact the user experience. One of them is the level of technical functionality. Some websites provide state of the art information but they are not technically sound. The loading speed of the pages is high and people have to wait for the loading process to be completed. Why would someone wait for your website to load even when faster options are available? Check the loading speed of your web pages particularly the ones that have a higher rate of traffic. You need to analyse the loading time and then compare them with what other websites are offering. If the websites of your competitor brands are quicker, it would be hard to get more organic searches.
  • Another important component of the user experience is internal linking structure. It is very important to have a good internal linking structure as it impacts the overall rank of the website and rate of organic searches. With a proper internal linking structure, new users do not face challenges when they are going through the website layout. New users do face problems if there is no internal linking structure present because they are unable to get to their desired pages. Consider an example. If a user visits your website and wants to visit the FAQ page directly, he should be able to get to the link easily. People do not like struggling for information when they visit a website. If you are losing out on organic searches, not having a proper internal linking structure may be the key reason. Hence, work on developing a good internal linking structure so that users do not have to search for things.

  1. Pages that do not respond

What do you feel when you visit a website, click a link and the page does not display any information? It is obvious that there would be a feeling of disappointment and you would not want to visit the website again. This is something that hampers the overall user experience and the number of organic searches for a website. When a page of the website is under construction, it would obviously not respond. If you have an update going, the customer should be directed towards an alternate page. If you suddenly feel that lesser people are searching for your website, it may be due to a non-responsive page.

  • If a particular page of the website is being updated with newer content, redirect the users to an alternate temporary page. An unresponsive page creates doubts in the mind of the user that the website may be having technical issues.

Why is it So Important to Perform an SEO Audit of Your Website? https://falconhive.com/why-is-it-so-important-to-perform-an-seo-audit-of-your-website/ Mon, 06 May 2019 08:46:05 +0000 https://falconhive.com/?p=6427 With Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tactics now playing a crucial part in how websites perform in the search engines against their competitors, it’s time for businesses to adapt and change the way they populate their websites. Providing good readable content to website visitors, ensuring content is easily accessible, and making sure the User Interface (UI) of the website is clear and easy to navigate, are just some of the things that the search engines love and are willing to reward for.

However, SEO dives much further than just those things and, if you can optimize your site the right way, you will see a big difference in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS) for the keywords you’re targeting. Optimizing your site is one thing, though, and being able to monitor your results is a different ball game. Therefore, by taking SEO audit tools under your wing, you can see where you’re going wrong and what you can do to rectify any SEO issues you’re facing. Here are a few of the other reasons why SEO audits are so important.

Where to Obtain SEO Audit Tools?

Before we see how important SEO audit tools are, it’s important you have access to the best tools out there. A simple search in Google will give you a list of some of the most effective audit tools, but you’ll often be faced with a fee or a tool that you don’t know how to use. If you want something easy and free, take a look at the Free Digital Marketing Tools by Fang Digital. They have a host of tools to help you succeed in digital marketing and plenty of eBooks to read. You can access a list of tools via Fang Digital by clicking the link.

Website Errors

One of the biggest benefits of taking advantage of SEO audit tools is that they’ll be able to sniff out any errors your visitors may be facing. Search engines are particularly hot on things like broken links and internal page errors. So, if your visitors are facing them, you may be penalized. SEO audit tools will point you towards those errors so that you can either redirect the visitors back to a page on your website that works, or fix the page that’s having the issues. It’s crucial your website comes back with minimal errors so it can flourish in the SERPs.

Algorithm Changes

Because Google and the other popular search engines are constantly changing their algorithms to provide better content for their surfers, you need to know what those changes are. Webmasters do generally get notified from the top search engines of the major changes, but they’ve also seen how some search engines overlook this step. SEO audit tools are built to understand how search engines work and how they’re constantly changing their algorithms. You could be relying on a particular method to target more organic traffic, but one change could throw all that in the air. Keep on top of the changes and you’ll be able to adapt and change the content you provide.

Useless Content

Useless/outdated content is something the search engines will not tolerate. In fact, it’s just costing them more bandwidth for their spiders to grab that content to display in the SERPs. What the search engines love most is those webmasters who are willing to go back to content that’s outdated to insert fresh content. This could be as simple as adding a few extra words or pictures or even removing now pointless content to something that’s up-to-date. SEO audit tools will give you a clue as to what content is performing the best and what content isn’t doing you any favors.

Backend Issues

SEO audit tools are particularly excellent at everything they do – especially when it comes to the backend. Visitors don’t see the backend of your website but search engine spiders rely on it to navigate. You could have a website that’s 10 years old and doesn’t quite fall in line with the latest coding standards (in fact, it’s guaranteed that it won’t). Therefore, regularly using SEO audit tools can not only help you become a better programmer, but you’ll also have a website that’s up-to-date with the latest coding standards. This could be as simple as providing the right META titles and descriptions. Although a lot of Content Management Systems (CMS) will have you covered and automatically update such information – there are those out there that do not. It’s important for you to be on top of everything when it comes to SEO, and that includes the backend of your website.

SEO audit tools are becoming more and more popular these days because businesses and websites far and wide are looking to gain an advantage over their competitors. Such tools could help you do exactly that, and by putting in a bit of time and effort into your SEO practices, you may well benefit from even more organic traffic.

SEO Risks to Take and SEO Risks to Avoid https://falconhive.com/seo-risks-to-take-and-seo-risks-to-avoid/ Thu, 25 Apr 2019 18:01:48 +0000 https://falconhive.com/?p=6418 As consumers, our lives are becoming ever more digitsed, with more and more reliance on online services and stores to provide us with everything from our banking to our groceries and digital products. As a new business, creating a dominant presence in the search engine results pages (SERPs) could be the thing to set your business apart from the rest. Search engine optimisation is a complex process though and the path to successful SEO is strewn with potential pitfalls and hurdles, so it pays to know what you’re doing or better still work with an experienced SEO company.

Here then are some SEO risks worth taking, as well as some that should be avoided at all costs…

Do Build a High-Quality Backlink Profile

Too many website owners are far too wary of the Google penalties associated with backlinks, especially as there is simply no way of avoiding the fact that sites with a healthy backlink profile consistently rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs). So, acquiring high-quality links wherever possible is not something you should be avoiding.

Provided that you proceed with white hat backlink building techniques, which prioritise connecting with a human audience over appealing solely to search engines, Google should positively reward all efforts to ensure your backlink profile maintains a keen focus on quality over quantity. Black hat techniques aim to secure higher rankings more quickly by breaking or bending the rules and the guidelines set out by search engines themselves. Black hat strategies should be avoided as they come with a significant risk of being hit with a potentially damaging Google penalty.

Do Refine your URL Structure

Ensuring that your URLs are keyword friendly and as simple as possible can deliver benefits for your site and your business. In addition to simply being more memorable, short, keyword-friendly URLs are more immediately informative and make it far easier for potential visitors to see what the page is about before clicking through from SERPs.

If you plan to change the URL structure of your site, start by optimising a subset of your pages before carefully analysing the results of these changes. If your new structure is delivering meaningful results, you can continue to optimise the rest of your URLs but do it incrementally to avoid hurting your organic rankings.

Do Redesign and Refine Your User Experience

While it is true that site-wide redesigns can be time-consuming and costly, they can also transform the fortunes of your business, particularly if you focus on providing your visitors with the best possible user experience. In fact, user experience is arguably one of the most important ranking factors. To illustrate this claim, this study from Search Engine Journal explores how a relatively small player in the fashion industry managed to successfully compete with the big players with little more than a strong social media presence and a good Alexa rating.

Looking at key metrics such as bounce rate, time on page and visit duration will help you to identify underperforming pages and determine the best way to improve them. From outdated copy and a lack of engaging media to complex navigation menus and unclear calls-to-action (CTAs), there are a variety of ways in which your site may benefit from some TLC.

Avoid Disavowing Middle-Of-The-Road Backlinks

Disavowing low-quality backlinks is something many SEO professionals still do. Even though Google has noted that unless you have received a manual penalty, it’s not necessary many professionals extend this practice to also disavowing backlinks that are neither benefiting nor harming rankings, which isn’t recommended.

As Google recognises that it is not always possible to control the sites that are linking to yours, it now largely ignores them instead of dispensing immediate punishments. It actively rewards sites it deems ‘natural players’ focusing on delivering value to visitors over ‘obsessed players’ that are too focused on rankings to prioritise solving the needs of visitors. As such, being as conservative as possible with disavow lists is key and disavowing neutral backlinks could actually be more risky than beneficial.

Avoid Deleting Onsite Content

Deleting pages of content immediately jeopardies your site’s ability to continue to rank well for those keywords. Amending pages to say something along the lines of ‘This product is unavailable’ and recommending similar products that might be of interest will often be more beneficial than simply removing the page altogether.

If you need to consolidate multiple pages, make sure that your new page effectively integrates the keywords and phrases covered by each of the old pages and that all old URLs successfully redirect to the new URL.

Avoid Making too Many Tiny Alterations

It’s no secret that Google values fresh content but constantly making small changes for SEO gains just looks suspicious. In addition to receiving a penalty for abnormal activity, a program of consistent minor changes can also affect the way your visitors view your business.

Even the smallest alterations are often extremely noticeable, especially to regular visitors who might be forced to change the way they engage with your site. If you constantly make alterations with search engines in mind, you risk negatively impacting the intuitiveness and usability of your site which will ultimately drive away valuable visitors.

While certain tactics are largely best avoided, ignoring SEO completely can be a much riskier choice because a powerful SEO strategy is fundamental to securing meaningful success in the digital age.

SEO Strategies for Beginners https://falconhive.com/seo-strategies-for-beginners/ Sun, 17 Mar 2019 18:52:57 +0000 https://falconhive.com/?p=6376 One of the most frequent problems that new bloggers face is the inability to get consistent traffic on their blogs. Initially, we all try to get our friends and close relatives to visit our blogs but still fail to get organic traffic. Organic traffic is the best kind of traffic for your blogs as it means you are probably ranking high on search engines which ultimately means your blog is a success. But if getting organic traffic was such an easy task everyone would have successful and popular websites, obviously that’s not the case. So, how to boost organic traffic on your websites? Well SEO is the answer.

Yes, Search Engine Optimization or SEO plays a major role if you want your website’s content to be at the top of any search engine such as Google. So, here are 4 simple yet effective SEO strategies for beginners:

  1. Keyword Planning

If you are writing an article without proper research and planning about the keywords it is as good as not writing about it. By conducting proper research about a topic and targeting high traffic volume keywords will definitely help in bringing more organic traffic to your website.

KWFinder is a tool which will help you in keyword planning. The tool is simple to use and can be useful for beginners.

Following are the steps you need to perform to get a great keyword:

  1. Choose a topic for your article.
  2. Think of a relevant keyword
  3. Search that keyword in KWFinder.
  4. In the result section, check the color. If the color is green, that means the keyword is easy to rank, if it is yellow, it will be slightly hard to rank on the keyword, if it is red, do not waste your time on this keyword, and try other relevant keywords like for ecommerce site, usually need to include Coupons, Deals and other relevant information about brands on which mostly user are targeting.
  5. After ensuring you have chosen a correct keyword, have a look at the search volume section at the left side of your screen, only proceed if the keyword has an adequate amount of traffic (monthly).

2.Inbound and Outbound Links

Linking your content with other content is really significant for the SEO of your website. Whether it is inbound links or outbound links, link building is necessary if you expect a good SEO for your blog.

Most of the bloggers prefer Word press as their CMS because it is easy to use and user-friendly. And, if you are a Word press user, chances are high that you are using Yoast plugin, if not we highly recommend using Yoast for basic SEO management on your website.

If you mention a few relevant websites in your content, you might earn a backlink or two from them too. Backlinks will ultimately help you in improving your Domain Authority, means you did an excellent job in maintaining your website’s SEO.

  1. Alt Tags

Using Alt Tags can be very beneficial for bloggers. Alt Tags are a vital part of SEO as with the help of proper Alt Tags you can drive an insane amount of traffic through Google images on your website.

Mostly we forget about the importance of Alt Tags and miss the opportunity of getting valuable organic traffic. So, make sure every image on your website contains proper AltTags. For example when you are targeting AliExpress Online stores for any cashback site then your Alt Tags will be AliExpress Coupons, AliExpress Promo Code, and AliExpress Offers etc. which will help to rank properly with over a period of time, once you will start on page and off page SEO for your product.

  1. Comments

At first sight, you might think what effect can few comments have on my websites ranking? But believe it or not, comments play a huge role in your websites rankings. Initially, you might take the help of your close friends and relatives to write some good comments on your posts. Try this out and observe the changes it will bring on your website.

These were some of the best SEO strategies to use if you are a new blogger. But keep one thing in mind, keep uploading new content on your website.

The Business Owner’s Quick SEO Checklist https://falconhive.com/the-business-owners-quick-seo-checklist/ Thu, 14 Feb 2019 19:47:15 +0000 https://falconhive.com/?p=6317 Keeping up with recent SEO developments can be overwhelming if you’re a business owner.

A hundred things are clamouring for your attention at once. You have clients whose concerns you need to resolve and personal responsibilities to take care of.

So, how can you still get found online despite your busy schedule?

This blog post contains a quick SEO checklist you can return to from time to time. It contains actionable advice that you can implement on your own.

Are you ready to optimise your website to find more potential customers?

Let’s get started.

Get an SEO plugin.

If you’re an SEO beginner, an SEO plugin can be a lifesaver.

The functionality may differ based on which SEO plugin you install, but its main purpose is to ensure your content is optimised. It even gives you tips so search engines won’t have a problem finding your web pages.

Yoast appears to be the most popular WordPress SEO plugin. It’s free and has an easy-to-understand scoring system.

Once you add Yoast, you’ll see a rectangle underneath WordPress’s content editor. You will see fields where you can enter your page title, meta description and more.

Let’s say you finished writing your blog post and you entered your post title in Yoast. You’ll see a small circle next to the page title field. Its colour will change depending on your page title’s score.

  • Green means you’re good to go.
  • Orange means your page title needs improvement.
  • Red means you need to rewrite your page title.

At this point, you might be worried about how to actually improve your page title. Don’t worry. Yoast offers improvement suggestions and guides you through each step.

Create a sitemap.

A sitemap is a complete list of your web pages. It tells search engines how your website is organised and ensures they don’t fail to index important pages.

You might think this step is too technical, but it’s something you can do by yourself.

If you still remember, we discussed the SEO plugin Yoast earlier. Aside from helping you optimise your content, it also creates and uploads a sitemap for you. The entire process will take you less than five minutes.

You can also use XML-Sitemaps. It’s a website that generates a sitemap for you and even gives you instructions regarding what to do next.

Go to the site and enter your URL. It will then take a few minutes to crawl your website and create a sitemap.

Once it’s done, XML-Sitemaps will tell you to upload it in your domain’s root folder and add the URL on Google Search Console.

Use on-page SEO techniques.

On-page SEO is when you optimise a specific web page to make sure it gets found by users. You can implement the techniques we’re about to discuss whenever you create a web page.

If your website already has a lot of web pages, you can make time to optimise each page on a daily or weekly basis. Break this task down into chunks so it doesn’t feel overwhelming.

Use headings properly.

Headings and subheadings tell both readers and search engines how your content is organised.

There are many types of headings. H1 is the main heading. It serves as your blog post’s title and should only be used once.

Don’t confuse H1 with the title tag. They serve a similar purpose, but they appear in different places.

When you search for something on Google, the search engine will populate results that include a title tag and a meta description. The title you see when looking for information on search engines is the title tag.

When you click on the link, the title you see on the actual page is H1.

The other subheadings are H2, H3, H4, H5 and H6. Unlike H1, you can use these subheadings several times in one piece of content.

For example, in this blog post, I used H2 for the section about using on-page SEO techniques and H3 for the tips that fall under it.

Add internal links.

Internal links are links from one page to another on the same website.

We need to define a few terms to fully understand the importance of internal links.

  • Page Authority – This is a scoring system created by Moz that estimates how well a page will do on Google. You can get a score between 1-100. A web page will most likely get a high page authority score if a lot of other websites link to it.
  • Link Equity – This is the “authority” a web page can give another by linking to it. If a web page with a high page authority score links to you, you have a better chance of climbing up search engine rankings.

Let’s say you have a website with a high page authority score. You could link to another relevant page on your website and share the link equity.

If you’re unsure how to get started, you can try the following strategies:

Use internal links with your reader in mind.

Don’t add internal links purely for SEO purposes. Think of your reader. Consider if adding a link to this other page could be beneficial to them.

For example, what if you include a link to a product page for pet food on a copywriting blog post?

The users reading your post are most likely interested in copywriting. They’ll find the link to the product page irrelevant. Not only that, Google can detect what you’re doing and might penalise you.

Review your old content.

If you’re blogging for business, you most likely write about related topics. Read your old content and see if you could add internal links to your more recent blog posts.

This step is great if you’re short on time. You could start adding internal links to several blog posts daily or weekly.

The great thing is, you don’t have to spend time writing new blog posts. You’re working with posts that have been around for a while.

Check for readability.

Readability is how easy it is for a reader to comprehend your content. Several factors affect readability including:

  • the words you use
  • your sentence structure
  • how you use headings

If your blog post is readable, users will spend more time reading it. This tells Google how great your content is and helps it rise higher in search engine rankings.

Aside from checking if you’ve used keywords correctly, Yoast uses the Flesh reading ease test to grade how readable your content is. You can get a score between 1-100. The higher your score, the more readable your content is.

Hemingway Editor is another great option. It’s a free tool you can open with a browser. It tells you if you can replace difficult words with simpler ones and highlights which sentences need to be rewritten.

Conclusion

Running and marketing your business are two completely different things. Sometimes, you don’t have enough hours in a day to complete all your tasks.

Eliminating the fluff and focusing on what you can do is key.

Get an SEO plugin like Yoast. It reviews your content and saves you plenty of time.

You can also create a sitemap. This is a task you only need to complete when you add new content, but it ensures search engines find your web pages.

Using on-page SEO techniques is crucial. Show search engines how your content is organised with headings and subheadings.

Keep readability in mind when writing new content. There are plenty of tools you can use that can speed up this process for you.

These are all tasks you can do. If you’d like to expand your business’s SEO strategy, you can always seek help from an SEO agency.

Is That SEO Agency the Right One for Your Business? https://falconhive.com/is-that-seo-agency-the-right-one-for-your-business/ Tue, 12 Feb 2019 19:41:16 +0000 https://falconhive.com/?p=6293 All businesses need some form of presence online – and small businesses are no exception. While many opt to do their own social media (which is either a hit or miss, since running business social media involves more than just witty captions and viral-worthy responses to customers) or grow their visibility by asking their connections to like and share their social media pages, those who want the full effects of SEO on their small businesses go to freelancers or agencies who can provide SEO services.

The problem with some SEO agencies, however, is that some of them aren’t equipped to provide good strategies for small businesses. Some agencies use the same formula on their clients, regardless of size or business type. So, strategies that could work on medium or large businesses or corporations may not work on small businesses.

And unlike these bigger businesses that might have a few knowledgeable employees who know when their outsourced SEO agency is trying to impress them by throwing power words into each sentence, a small business owner may only rely on whatever their SEO agency tells them what to do.

Avoid falling into this trap and making sure your outsourced agency can provide strategic SEO solutions for your small businesses by looking for these signs.

The Three W’s

When looking at an agency’s website, take note of the three W’s: Who, Where, and What. Who are their clients? Where are they located? And services do they provide.

Plenty of SEO agencies maximize their income by taking any client they can find. However, the SEO agency you’ll want to work with specifically mentions small to medium businesses. The more smaller businesses they’ve worked with, the more likely they understand your situation is not similar to larger companies, and the better their strategy for your business.

Where they’re located can greatly affect the way they do business with you. Agencies located in the other end of the United States promise they can provide you services remotely. However, if you’re a small business, it’s a huge advantage if they know the culture and the people in the area because this makes for a more efficient marketing strategy.

And third, check out the services they offer. If an SEO business offers this list of services, it doesn’t necessarily mean all businesses provide those same services. As a small business, you’ll need local SEO over SEO. If you’ve done your research on the first two, finding an agency that provides all the services you really need can be more efficient.

Check Online Reviews

Like other establishments, don’t take their advertisements of high-quality service to heart. Chances are, a business may say one thing about their services, but most of their customers are singing another tune. One bad review may just be a fluke or an irrational, entitled client among a sea of customers providing high praise, but consistently bad reviews all pointing out the same things that made them unhappy is a huge red flag.

Good SEO agencies understand how online reviews can help their clients, and they know that if they’re providing a good service, they wouldn’t be afraid to have a Google My Business or Yelp where their clients can leave a review.

Can Their Website Walk the Talk?

If an SEO agency’s website promises high-quality web design, white hat SEO, and other quality services but have a slow and ugly website and are not even searchable on Google, are you sure they can provide the right services for your business?

A good SEO business takes the steps of what it does for its clients and then uses it on their own business to attract attention. Their success in marketing their own business is a sign of the type of SEO efficiency you can expect when working with them.

SEO services are a significant investment for small businesses. Because you’re spending a lot of money to get word of your business out on the internet, you need to be working with an agency that really knows what it is doing, especially when it comes to working with your business’ size and nature. Doing your research beforehand ensures that the service you get is worth your money.

The Most Effective SEO Techniques You Can Use Today  https://falconhive.com/the-most-effective-seo-techniques-you-can-use-today/ Thu, 07 Feb 2019 21:29:11 +0000 https://falconhive.com/?p=6275 There are many services today that offer tools to help you with your SEO campaigns. These include website themes that optimize your posts/pages, reseller hosting accounts that come with premium SEO tools, analytics tools that help track SEO searches, and more. But at the end of the day, you need to know the right techniques and techniques to make use of these tools and resources. Here are some of the most effective SEO techniques that you can use today to give your website rankings a big boost.

1. Optimize for Faster Site Loading Speed

How fast your website loads is a SEO ranking factor that many website owners are overlooking. Loading speed has been a ranking factor for years and Google has recently made it part of the mobile search results rankings not too long ago. While optimizing for loading speed can be a technical process, there are many different things you can do from enabling browser caching, compressing your images, minifying your code, to switching to a faster reseller hosting plan. Do what you can on your own and get help when you need it.

2. Improve Your Engagement

There is no official declaration by Google that engagement metrics have an impact on search rankings. However, there is some evidence that suggests it may be a factor. It’s also natural that it will be the next evolution in Google’s search engine algorithm with the release of the Google RankBrain update since Google is all about providing value to users. By working to increase your engagement with better design, copy, and content, you can also increase your rankings.

3. Recycle Old Content

Just because a piece of content was written a couple of years ago doesn’t mean that it no longer has any value. You can easily update, add to, and rewrite your old content. This is especially effective if the topic you’ve written about was a big hit with your audience. It’s also a cheaper and faster way to create quality content. You don’t need to spend so much time on research and most of the time, you simply need to make the content relevant to the current times.

4. Link Out to Authoritative Resources

There’s a reason why more websites are linking to helpful resources. It goes beyond adding value to their visitors and can help their pages actually rank higher. Google can determine the quality and relevancy of your page by the outgoing links. This kind of content is also seen as more authoritative by Google. It may possible extend to your site if multiple pages on your site are optimized in this manner.

5. Use Your Analytics Data to Discover New Keywords

Even though you’ve probably spent a lot of time on keyword research, it’s impossible to compile a comprehensive list. As you create pages and produce content for these pages, you’ll find that many of the keywords used to land on these pages are not what you optimized for. By digging around your analytics data and searching for keyword referrals, you’ll be able to come up with a list of keywords that you haven’t thought of. Now you have a new set of keywords to optimize for and attract traffic with.

6. Take the Content Marketing Approach for Links

Getting links through traditional outreach campaigns still work, but it’s getting increasingly harder to acquire links in this manner. It feels like getting links naturally through content marketing seems to be a more efficient way to approach link building. Of course, this doesn’t mean you should abandon outreach campaigns if they are working for you. But you should try putting more of your resources into content marketing to see if it’s a more efficient way for you to build links.

7. Use AMP for Mobile Users

Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) is a new format that allows you to create pages that loads very quickly on mobile devices. One trend that we’ve seen is content on AMP seems to rank higher in the mobile search results than regular pages. This might be something that Google is testing at the moment and there’s no telling if AMP will define the future of mobile websites. However, it is a trend that you will want to capitalize on if you’re engaging in mobile SEO.

8. Design Your Content

With so many of your competitors producing similar content, it’s becoming more important to design your content. You want your content to use unique typography, include relevant images, have proper formatting, and even include multimedia (videos, audio streams, animated GIFs). A content designed in this manner will stand out far more than a regular block of text. It will also increase engagement on your website which can help you with your rankings and improve conversion rates.

9. Create Longer Form Content

There have been many SEO experts now that have reported that pages with longer form content ranked better than shorter content. Many ran tests that showed content with 1500 words or more ranked better than content with 500 words or less. This might be due to indirect factors such as higher engagement, more relevant keywords used, and more websites preferring to link to authoritative content. Even if this is the case, the results you get from producing higher word content are the same. It is definitely worth the extra effort to producing authoritative content.

To conclude, it’s all about implementing the right techniques and strategies to help you get the most out of your SEO campaigns. So before you rush to your SEO tools, take some time to learn more about SEO and what’s currently working in the industry today. It will allow you extract more value out of your tools and use them more effectively to enhance your SEO results.
